The Negros Occidental Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded both incoming and outgoing elected officials to form transition teams, which is a requirement before newly-elected officials can take office.
According to DILG-Negros Occidental director, Engr. Carmelo Orbista, due to a pending request for a recount, officials in Isabela have yet to submit a report to their office.
Earlier this week, acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, said a transition team is currently conducting an inventory of ongoing provincial government programs and projects; while, prior to last week’s elections, outgoing Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III issued an executive order creating the Local Governance Transition Team.
