During a press conference yesterday, Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez projected voter turnout in last week’s midterm elections will likely range around 75 percent.
“We’re on track to meet the 75 percent projection that we said earlier,” he affirmed.
The Comelec official noted, as of Sunday, 46,343,423 votes have already been transmitted, which comprises 74.89 percent of registered voters.
Last week, Negros Occidental provincial elections supervisor, Atty. Tictac Villanueva, said the province saw around 75 percent voter turnout in last week’s polls.
The elections official noted, during the transmission process, they did encounter delays due to defective SD cards, which she explained were not corrupted but of poor quality and required replacements./WDJ
