The Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) girls’ volleyball team, which is represented by Bacolod Tay Tung High School, opened their 2019 PRISAA National Games campaign with a 25-6, 25-18 victory over Region XII yesterday at the University Of Mindanao-Matina in Davao City.
“It was a good team effort and we are also fortunate that the girls [were] able to bring their A-game despite having jet lag,” said WVPRISAA assistant coach Roberto Calamba.
WVPRISAA next faces Region IX this morning, followed by Region V tomorrow, and Region XI on Thursday.
In the tertiary division, WVPRISAA, which is represented by Central Philippine University (CPU), scored a 25-10, 25-12, 25-12 win over Region III in the women’s division.
In addition, the WVPRISAA men’s team, which is also represented by CPU and played Region III, won in straight sets, 25-11, 25-16, 25-18./ASC, WDJ
