Negros Occidental provincial elections supervisor, Atty. Tictac Villanueva, recently confirmed elections in the province were overall peaceful, noting, there were no election related incidents recorded last week.
However, Villanueva pointed out, technical glitches, such as corrupted SD cards, resulted in delays in proclamations and the Provincial Board of Canvassers adjourning last Friday, four days after the elections.
The elections official stated their primary task right now is to gather and submit all necessary reports to the Comelec’s central office. She also confirmed receiving information indicating some candidates are filing electoral protests.
Villanueva also reminded candidates to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures./DGB, WDJ
