The five individuals involved in last November’s standoff at the Metro Inn have posted bail.
Atty. Erfe del Castillo, Francis Rey Cabuga, Patchy Cabuga, Joseph Ray Cabuga, and Cera Cabuga all posted bail in the amount of P36,000 each. Del Castillo, who serves as legal counsel for the group, affirmed the transaction was completed on May 8.
She said the case was filed against them in retaliation for the murder case filed against Catherine Berioso-Cabuga, who also goes by ‘Kate Brios,’ and her group.
Judge Abraham Bayona of the Bacolod City Municipal Trial Courts in Cities-Branch 7 issued a warrant of arrest against del Castillo’s group last month.
Last year, Francis Rey Cabuga and del Castillo, alongside nine guards, took over the lodging establishment.
In response, Berioso-Cabuga said she was forced to destroy glass doors and utilize a bolt cutter to regain control of the inn.
Police also had to disarm the guards to deescalate the situation./DGB, WDJ
