The Bacolod City Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday formally proclaimed the city’s winning candidates from last Monday’s midterm elections with incumbents Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, and Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya each winning reelection.

The mayor’s Grupo Progreso (GP) political coalition also won all but one seat on the Sangguniang Panlungsod with incumbent City Councilor Wilson Gamboa, Jr., a member of the opposing Asenso for Better Bacolod-Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan coalition, beating out GP bet Marlon Solidum for the last spot.

The incumbent won by 674 votes.

Proclamations had earlier been delayed due to SD card problems and a glitch in data transmission.

The winning candidates are set to take office on June 30./DGB, WDJ
