Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) managed to keep hopes alive following their 26-24, 14-25, 25-21, 25-15 win over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) last Wednesday in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball finals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The win forces a decisive Game 3, which is scheduled for Saturday.

“Pumapasok talaga sa isip namin na it might be our last game (The thought of ‘it might be out last game’ really entered our minds),” said AdMU’s Madeleine Madayag. “We really played our best—we really worked as a team.”

Madayag led the win with 17 points off 10 attacks, four kill blocks, and three aces; Bea De Leon hammered 10 attacks in her 13-point outing; and Kat Tolentino contributed double-figures, scoring 11 markers.

After come-from-behind wins in the first and third set, AdMU pounded on a hapless UST squad with a 20-8 start to ensure a Game 3.
