Following their 2-0 loss to Home United FC of the Singapore Premier League earlier this week in the 2019 AFC Cup group stage, Kaya FC-Iloilo bowed out of the competition. The Ilonggo club finished third place in Group H.
The Singaporean outfit opened scoring in the first minute of the match through midfielder Adam Swandi. While Kaya striker Jordan Mintah offered up two attempts at an equalizer, both were deflected.
Home United defender Abdil Qaiyyim Mutalib later doubled the lead in the 18th minute.
Both Mintah and defender Masanari Omura tried to pull one back for Kaya FC; however, their attempts were blocked by Home United keeper Rudy Khairullah.
In the second half, both Kaya FC defender Tyler Matas and striker Darryl Roberts were unable to successfully convert close range shots.
The win moved Home United into second place in the group, pushing the Iloilo City-based side down./ASC, WDJ
