A man was arrested by members of the La Castellana Municipal Police Station late Saturday night after he was caught allegedly distributing “black propaganda” leaflets targeting incumbent La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan.
Police identified the suspect as 54-year-old Reynaldo dela Torre, a resident of the said town.
La Castellana police chief, Police Major Robert Dejucos, said they received a complaint regarding an individual distributing leaflets against the mayor.
After arresting dela Torre, he admitted to coordinating for a mayoral candidate currently challenging Mangilimutan.
Dejucos said dela Torre may face libel charges if Nicor-Mangilimutan decides to file a case.
The suspect is now detained at the La Castellana Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
