Cadiz City boxer loses OPBF fight, announces retirement

After losing the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight title against Japanese boxer Keita Kurihara last week at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, Warlito Parrenas of Cadiz City announced his retirement.

“This is [the] time to retire,” he said. “I will just turn my attention [on being] a full-time boxing trainer.”

While the Negrense boxer tried keeping step with his Japanese opponent, the latter went to work late in the opening round scored a stoppage win with 35 seconds left.

Parrenas currently works as a boxing trainer at the Morioka Boxing Gym in Japan./ASC, WDJ
