Nearly 16.5M registered voters are in their 20s –Comelec

 

According to data gathered by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the majority of registered voters are in their 20s with nearly 16.5 million eligible voters.

Comelec record show there are 16,498,112 registered voters between the ages of 20 and 29. In addition, those between the ages of 18 and 20 amounted to 2,349,118.

Meanwhile, senior citizens also made up a sizable percentage of registered voters at 9,142,066.

Ahead of yesterday’s midterm elections, provincial elections supervisor, Atty. Salud Milagros Villanueva, revealed there are approximately 1.8 million registered voters in Negros Occidental, noting, it is the fourth-largest voting population in the Philippines.

She added, Bacolod City alone boasts 312,816 registered voters./WDJ
