Local Comelec: We are
praying for smooth elections
After final testing was conducted on the vote counting machines and voter registration verification machines expected to be used during today’s midterm elections, Bacolod City Commission on Elections (Comelec) supervisor, Atty. Ann Janette Lamban, said they are praying for the smooth conduct of elections.
“We are praying and hoping for smooth elections,” she said. “I think everyone is praying for that.”
Meanwhile, Famyra Derayunan of the electoral board based at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Elementary School expressed similar sentiment.
“We also need to prepare our mind and body,” she said.
Last week, a truck carrying vote counting machines crashed in Cauayan.
While authorities did not see any noticeable damage to the machines, officials said they will only know if there are issues once final testing and sealing takes place./WDJ
