The “Kinaadman” performing and visual arts workshop, which has gathered around 700 participants, is currently taking place at the Sagay City Government Center.

“I am proud to say that these children have been performing for audiences during city and provincial activities—even to foreign visitors—to Sagay City,” said Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III during the event’s launching last month.

The program, which runs until next week, May 17, features classes in a variety of disciplines including basic guitar, drums, keyboards, photography, Hawaiian dance, painting, pencil rendering, clay sculpture, pop dance, contemporary dance, Latin-American dancesport, voice, basic journalism, public speaking, modeling, theater, and folk dance.

“Some of these kids start as early as five years old,” said Council for the Protection of Children focal person Leah Abalona. “Some of them are already in high school and still continue to join the workshops every summer.”
