Town councilor: The school is a legacy for the Montilla family
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
The construction of Tinongan National High School is currently underway in Isabela’s Barangay Tinongan.
The Montilla family, who donated the land back in 2017, expressed their appreciation to the Department of Education and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for starting the project.
According to Isabela Municipal Councilor PM Montilla, the first phase will be a two-story, four-room school building worth about P11.4 million.
“There are three other buildings, including a teachers’ lounge and a covered court, that will be constructed,” he added.
The town official also called on DPWH to hasten construction.
“Every year, the student  population is growing.” Montilla explained. “How [can] you fit more than a thousand students, plus the teachers, inside the campus of the Tinongan Elementary School where the high school is sharing space?”
“This project is a legacy of our family,” he added./DGB, WDJ
