Villarosa: The neighborhood lacks evacuation centers, flood control systems

Barangay Tangub Captain Noli Villarosa, yesterday morning, accused two city government officials of influencing Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia to block projects intended for his community.

He claimed Nonoy Amago and an official who goes by the alias ‘Top Gun’ of obstructing certain projects.

Citing a lack of basketball courts, the barangay captain said there needs to be an outlet for the neighborhood youth.

“Our [barangay] government is very aggressive in the illegal drugs program and, therefore, there should be an option for the youth to spend more time [playing sports],” Villarosa explained. “Barangay Tangub should also be allowed to avail of the 20 percent development fund since it is spread throughout the City Development Council.”

He added, the community also lacks evacuation centers and flood control systems.

Villarosa noted, his barangay had been very cooperative with the current administration and it is “high time” the city government give more support to his barangay./DGB, WDJ
