Kabankalan City boxer stops opponent in the first round

Roldan Aldea of Kabankalan City scored a first round stoppage victory over the weekend at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City. The win allowed him to retain the Philippine Games and Amusements Board lightweight belt, along with halt a three-fight losing streak.

After previously fighting Nathan Bolcio last year, where the Negrense was declared the winner in the seventh round after his opponent was deemed unfit to continue, it was a more decisive win after Aldea landed a left straight to the body that left Bolcio on the canvas for a full 10-count.

With the victory, the 24-year-old Negrense fighter improves to 13-7-1 win-loss-draw record, including seven stoppage wins.

Meanwhile, in the undercard, Ilog native Alvin Tayo drew with Kawelo Alcos, Bacolodnon boxer Ruben Traza slumped to a 10th consecutive defeat after a unanimous decision loss to Fernan Agencia./ASC, WDJ
