According to the latest Asian Football Confederation (AFC) club rankings, Ceres-Negros FC is currently the best club in Southeast Asia. With an overall ranking of 31, the Bacolod City-based club edged out defending Thai League 1 champions Buriram United FC, which ranked 33rd.

“The latest ranking [proves] anything is possible for Philippine football with the right program and support,” Ceres FC said in a statement.

The Negrense club is currently undefeated in the ongoing 2019 AFC Cup and has already qualified for the knockout stage, where they will face off with the winners of Group F and H, along with the best second place team among the three groups in the ASEAN Zone semifinals.

Ceres FC has one final group stage match next week, May 15, against defending V.League champions Becamex Binh Duong FC at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City./ASC, WDJ
