Local group plans on serving as Bacolod City election ‘watchdogs’

Citizens for Better Bacolod (CBB), an organization that describes themselves as a civil society group dedicated to the betterment of the city through volunteerism and positive community action, plans on serving as “watchdogs” during the May 13 midterm elections through their “Oplan: End Game.”
“CBB is a multi-sectoral watchdog group aimed [at raising] awareness of Bacolodnons on issues affecting the city,” they said.
The group also encouraged the public to “be vigilant.”
“Citizen agents” will be deployed to the city’s 61 barangays, where they will monitor all election-related activity. They also said they would enforce the Omnibus Election Code and Commission on Elections (Comelec) policies by preventing the active participation of casual and job order employees in campaign sorties and rallies, vote-buying, and voter harassment.
Meanwhile, CBB is also launching a massive voters’ education program in high density areas of Bacolod City to help the public in making their decision./DGB, WDJ
