Department of Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol recently revealed Guimaras mangoes will be showcased in Belarus, Germany, and Russia next month.

“Guimaras is living up to its reputation of being the best mango in the world,” he said. “Wherever I go, I take pride in telling the story about an island in the Central Visayas, where mangoes are the sweetest.”

While the cabinet official said he would be bringing Guimaras mangoes to Belarus when he visits from June 4 to 9, a Russian company has reportedly ordered two tons of Guimaras mangoes weekly. In addition, a supermarket chain that boasts 12,500 branches across Eastern Europe has also purportedly expressed interest in the crop.

Meanwhile, Guimaras mangoes will also be featured at the Department of Agriculture Mango Festival in Manila from May 6 to 10./WDJ
