F2 Logistics Cargo Movers moved closer to bagging the 2019 Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix Conference crown following their recent 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 25-23 win over the Petron Blaze Spikers in Game 1 of their finals series at the San Juan Arena.
Maria Jose Perez led the win with 24 points, while Lindsay Stalzer added 21 markers on 20 attacks.
Despite F2 Logistics starting strong in the opening set, they still needed a late push from Perez, Stalzer, and Mary Joy Baron to thwart the defending champions and take a 1-0 set edge.
After Petron took the second frame, the Cargo Movers came back in the third with a 20-14 edge; however, Petron rallied back and tied the match at 23-all before Stalzer knocked in the next two points and put F2 Logistics at 2-1 set edge.
Stalzer continued to torch her former team in the fourth set as she carried the F2 Logistics to a 22-20 advantage. Perez then nailed three straight points to clinch the victory.
Game 2 takes place tonight.
Meanwhile, in the consolation match, the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters took third place after their 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 20-25, 19-17 win over the Cignal HD Spikers./ASC, WDJ
