Following Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya recently announcing he had filed a bill calling for the construction of the Bacolod City District Hospital, former Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella panned the proposal calling it redundant and questioning the timing of the filing.
“They didn’t express plans in the past [but], now that it is the campaign season, they release it,” he stated. “That is unthinkable.”
The former city official also said the project was unnecessary as it would serve the same purpose as the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital West Building.
According to Gasataya, if approved, construction would be funded by the national government./DGB, WDJ
