Negrense runner picks up second gold medal

After earlier capturing a gold medal in the secondary girls’ 400-meter hurdles competition of the ongoing 2019 Palarong Pambansa, Negrense athlete Bernalyn Bejoy recently picked up another gold in the 400-meter dash at the University of Mindanao oval in Davao City.
The Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) continued to up their medal tally after Bejoy clocked in at 57.61 second, beating Charmaine de Ocampo of Region IV-A and Divina Mahusay of Region V.
Other WVRAA athletes to recently win gold medals include June Philip Martinez in secondary boys’ shot put, Ann Katherine Quitoy in secondary girls’ javelin throw, Jasmin Jamelarin – elementary girls’ 100-meter hurdles, and Joshua Rey Sevilla – elementary boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
In addition, Alexie Cabayaran picked up her second gold medal in swimming after winning the elementary girls’ 100-meter backstroke.
Among silver medal winners included Vince Jayson Buhayan in the secondary boys’ 400-meter dash, Ritchie Estampador in elementary boys’ triple jump, Laurence Rabanes – secondary boys’ 3,000-meter steeplechase, Armiashane Malicse – elementary girls’ shot put, Kim Villaran – elementary girls’ 400-meter dash, Roselle Pearl de Leon – arnis, and Angela Bermejo – taekwondo.
Meanwhile, bronze medalists include Eduard Jornadal in the elementary boys’ 400-meter dash, Lyndon Huelar in elementary boys’ shot put, Earl Buncio – secondary boys’ swimming in the 50-meter butterfly, Alyssa Chavez – gymnastics, and Roem Joseph Ayuban – taekwondo./ASC, WDJ
