WVRAA picks up medals in taekwondo

Taekwondo athletes competing for the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) recently picked up several medals in the ongoing 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City.

Medals were recently awarded in the poomsae events, which are comprised of basic attack and defense motions associated with the martial art.

Jamie Hannah Agaloos and Cindy Joy Diasnes each captured gold in the secondary girls’ individual event; while Ceanne Rosquillo of Bago City won gold in the secondary boys’ individual event.

In other individual events, Cyd Edryc Esmana won gold in the elementary boys’ division and Julianne Martha Uy bagged silver in the elementary girls’ contest.

In terms of group competitions, Agaloos and Diasnes also won gold in the secondary girls’ category with Sophia Tungala; Rosquillo, Joshua Cachero, and Jesserey Frantilla captured silver in the secondary boys’ division; Uy, Elizabeth Borres, and Niesha Pequierda took bronze in the elementary girls’ competition; and Esmana, Julio Zapata, and Clyde Chua won bronze in the elementary boys’ division./ASC, WDJ
