WVRAA girls’ volleyball team sweeps Region II

The Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) secondary girls’ volleyball team recently pulled off a 25-14, 25-14 sweep of Region II in the ongoing 2019 Palarong Pambansa at the Davao City–University of the Philippines Sports Complex.
“It’s a good start for us,” said WVRAA assistant coach Biboy Calamba. “The players were able to follow our game plan well.”
However, he did acknowledge awaiting challenges, noting, “We know that games will be tougher for us as we go along.”
Erika Deloria led the Bacolod Tay Tung High School squad, which is representing WVRAA in the competition.
They next face Region VII this afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in other events, the WVRAA secondary boys’ basketball team cruised to a 97-87 victory over Mimaropa. Their next opponents will be Northern Mindanao, who they will meet today at 7:30 p.m.
