Padilla ‘double murder’ upped to P2M

The reward for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects involved in the recent murders of Moises Padilla Municipal Councilor Michael Garcia and the town’s former Liga ng mga Barangay President (ABC) Mark Garcia was increased to P2 million.

After Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and former Negros Occidental fourth district Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer earlier pledged P1 million, Negros Occidental third district Rep. Alfredo Benitez and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson put forward an additional P1 million.
Meanwhile, the former ABC official was cremated over the weekend in Bacolod City during a ceremony attended by family, friends, and several politicians.
The slain town councilor’s remains are presently interred at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels, also in Bacolod City./DGB, WDJ
