The Cignal HD-Ateneo Blue Eagles eviscerated the Batangas EAC Generals, 90-46, in the 2019 PBA D-League last Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Joseph Matthew Nieto uncorked 10 of his 16 total points in the opening half as the reigning UAAP men’s basketball champions’ slim 16-9 edge stretched to its widest lead of 88-40 on free throws by Tyler Tio.

Tio also made his presence felt with 19 points, while William Navarro recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

In the other game, the SMDC-NU Bulldogs came back from 19 points down to beat the CEU Scorpions, 74-67.

Dave Ildefonso spearheaded SMDC-NU’s upset win by scoring the team’s final nine points, including 12 of his total 21 markers./ASC, WDJ
