Program seeks to assist ‘young Negrense men’

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday signed a memorandum of agreement with Dualtech Training Center Foundation Inc. to provide scholarships for 20 Negros Occidental students enrolled in vocational-technical courses.

Eligible recipients will undergo a two-year training on electromechanics technology at the Dualtech Training Center technical school in Calamba, Laguna. Students will be taught basic skills, industrial skills, personal development, along with lessons on digital electronics and basic automation.

The program seeks to produce high quality electromechanic technicians in response to a growing demand both domestically and abroad.

According to a release from the Negros Occidental provincial government, the scholarship is aimed at “poor but deserving young Negrense men.”/WDJ
