Rain or Shine leads 2-0 in PBA Cup series against Magnolia

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters leaned on solid outside shooting to score a 93-80 victory over the Magnolia Hotshots in Game 2 of their 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven semifinal series over the weekend at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Rain or Shine leads the series, 2-0
Eduardo Daquioag led the win with 19 points; Norbert Torres tallied 16; while Rey Nambatac and Gabriel Norwood contributed 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
The Painters surged to a 17-12 start, with Torres converting three early triples, but the Hotshots quickly rallied to an 18-17 edge. However, Rain or Shine later regained the lead after the first 12 minutes on two free throws from Jewel Ponferrada.
The Painters extended their lead to 38-25 at the onset of the second period on treys from Torres, Daquioag, Nambatac, and Mark Borboran.
The Hotshots went on to trim the deficit to 50-41 at the half on five straight points from Robbie Herndon. While they got as close as 52-45, the Painters created distance anew on back-to-back triples from Daquioag and five straight points from James Yap resulting in their largest lead of 84-59./ASC, WDJ
