San Carlos City athletes shine
in taekwondo tournament

The San Carlos Taekwondo Falcon Maroons excelled at the 2019 Panaad Sports Feast Taekwondo Championships, an event of the Panaad sa Negros Festival, which took place over the weekend at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
In the elementary girls’ kyorugi event, which is a demonstration of sparring, Ju-an Jin Requina captured gold in the under-23 kg division and Thaña Gordove took silver in the 30-to-38 kg division; while Mark Isiah Cadayona won bronze in the elementary boys’ 30-to-38 kg division.
In the cadet kyorugi division, Angel Mae Lumanog won gold in girls’ 30-to-38 kg category and Niña Faith Verdeflor earner silver in the girls’ 51-to-55 kg category.
In the junior division, Reina Mae Moreño won silver in girls’ 48-to-51 kg category, Angel Supangan took home bronze in the girls’ 51-to-55 kg category, Prince Gail Arnado won bronze in the boys’ 45-to-48 kg category, and Mhel Angelo Tagpuno captured bronze in the boys’ 50-to-54kg category.
Meanwhile, in the poomsae events, which are comprised of basic attack and defense motions associated with the martial art, among solo categories, John Martin Artajo took bronze in elementary division A, James Dwayne Seldura won bronze in cadet division A, and Jade Mariz Seldura took bronze in juniors division A.
In addition, Wenzy Leoren Chavez and James Dwayne Seldura captured bronze in mixed cadet pair event./ASC, WDJ
