An armored van was heavily damaged after it burst into flames last Saturday in Barangay Bubog, Talisay City.
Based on information provided by the local Bureau of Fire Protection, the armored van, which was owned by ATP Incorporated, was returning to Bacolod City after collecting cash from a shopping mall in Silay City.
Upon reaching Barangay Bubog, the occupants began smelling smoke, prompting the driver to stop the vehicle.
The occupants were able to get out in time as the fire started to spread inside the vehicle.
Firefighters later arrived and doused the blaze.
Arson investigators discovered faulty electrical wiring in the vehicle’s battery may have caused the blaze.
The cash, meanwhile, was all accounted for as they were safely secured inside the vehicle’s vault./DGB, WDJ
