The Public Information Officer for Hinoba-an was shot and killed yesterday by a relative.

Police identified the fatality as 40-year-old Hernani Gustilo, Jr., a resident of the municipality’s Barangay Bacuyangan.

Based on initial investigations by police, Gustilo was bumped by the suspect, identified only by the alias ‘Itik,’ who then opened fire with a still-unidentified caliber of firearm, striking Gustilo twice in the chest.

The suspect immediately fled, while Gustilo was killed on the spot.

An initial autopsy found both bullets exited through his back, which revealed the shots were fatal.

Police are presently looking into a possible past grudge as the motive behind the killing./DGB, WDJ
