With the Holy Week observance set to begin on Palm Sunday, April 14, the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) has initiated “Oplan: Ligtas SumVac” in order to inform the public on what they should do during the holiday break.
In a social media post, PRO-6 reminded the public, if they are leaving their homes, they should make sure doors, windows, and gates are locked.
The police also advised not to leave notes if they are leaving their home and, if possible, leave a radio on to give the impression to possible burglars that someone is inside.
They also advised to hide all important valuables.
PRO-6 also stated, when outside, the public should avoid wearing jewelry or displaying expensive gadgets that could attract attention from thieves or robbers.
They also advised to withdraw only the necessary amount of cash from ATMs and to be on guard for any modus, or “salisi.”
They further added, the public should report any suspicious items or individuals in their area./DGB, WDJ
