The Cignal HD Spikers advanced to the 2019 Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix Conference semifinals after their 25-22, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20 victory over United Volleyball Club last Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.

Erika Wilson led the win with 25 points, while Ana Artemeva added 18 markers.

Cignal HD opened the match aggressively and handily won two of the first three sets behind Wilson and Artemeva.

In the fourth set, Cignal HD clung to a 21-18 edge when United made a late run to come to within 21-20. However, clutch hits from Rachel Ann Daquis and Mylene Paat sealed the win.

They next face the Petron Blaze Spikers in a three-game semifinal series.

In the other match, the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers eked out a thrilling 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 26-24 win over PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters, forcing a decider./ASC, WDJ
