A brace from San Carlos City native Shanden Vergara helped De La Salle University (DLSU) in their 4-2 win over Adamson University last Sunday in the 81st UAAP men’s football season at the Far Eastern University-Diliman pitch.

While Adamson drew first blood after DLSU goalkeeper Franz Brosoto accidentally palmed Jusuel Pilarca’s corner kick into his own net, Mateo Alegre managed to score an equalizer at the half.

Into the second half, Jhon Rhey Lagura put DLSU up 2-1 in the 63rd minute. Shortly after, Vergara earned his brace through goals in the 67th and 69th minute.

Pilarca pulled one back for Adamson at three minutes from time./ASC, WDJ
