Former Bacolod City Councilor Bobby Rojas, who serves as campaign manager for Grupo Progreso, the political coalition led by incumbent Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, yesterday confirmed President Rodrigo Duterte will arrive in Bacolod City tomorrow for a PDP-Laban campaign rally.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Rojas said the rally will take place at the Pope John Paul II Tower beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Last month, the president attended a PDP-Laban rally in Victorias City, where an estimated 50,000 people attended. During his visit, he called on New People’s Army rebels in Negros to lay down their weapons and renewed his criticism of the Catholic Church, acknowledging he has “a serious problem with the church.”
Earlier that same day, Duterte also stopped by Sagay City, where he distributed 3,423 certificates of land ownership award./DGB, WDJ
