Philippines knocked out of ABL

San Miguel Alab Pilipinas was recently eliminated from the 2018-2019 ASEAN Basketball League after losing 102-82 to the Hong Kong Eastern basketball team in Game 2 of their quarterfinal series at the Southorn Stadium in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai district.
The Philippines showed some urgency early on and built an 18-6 advantage but it was quickly erased as Hong Kong went on a 16-1 run, pushing the latter to a 22-19 edge. Eastern continued to lead the way, taking a 56-37 advantage at halftime; then widening their lead to 76-51 in the third quarter.
O’Darien Bassett led the Hong Kong squad with 28 points, 15 assists, five rebounds, and three steals. In addition, Marcus Elliott contributed 29 points, eight boards, and three dimes; and Lee Ki had 18 points.
For the Philippines, Peter John Ramos led the with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists; while Renaldo Balkman contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists./ASC, WDJ
