Ahead of the Holy Week observance, which begins on Palm Sunday, April 14, and ends on Easter Sunday, April 21, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday advised the public to secure their homes before leaving for vacation.
BCPO spokesperson, Police Major Ariel Pico, said homeowners should ensure their doors and gates are locked to prevent burglaries.
He also advised homeowners with closed-circuit television cameras installed to keep them operational and to get in touch with their most trusted neighbors to watch over their house while they are away.
Motorists, meanwhile, are reminded to check their battery, oil, brakes, gas, tools, light, water, air, and engine before going on long trips.
The BCPO spokesperson also stated, during the Holy Week observance, police will be concentrating deployments at various places of worship across the city.
Police Assistance Desks will also be installed at all Catholic and Aglipayan churches in the city during the period, as well as the city’s bus and sea terminals./DGB, WDJ
