The Bacolod City branch of the Social Security System (SSS) was evacuated yesterday morning after an employee received a text message claiming there was a bomb inside the building.
SSS-Bacolod head Lina Hilado said one of their tellers received a text message around 6:00 a.m. claiming there was a bomb inside the building.
The employee forwarded the information to Hilado and they immediately contacted the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
Around 200 of the building’s employees and clients were told to evacuate, while police searched the building.
The search ended with no explosive devices found.
Hilado added, they have been receiving a “miss call” from the same mobile number since Monday.
The SSS branch head is planning to seek assistance from the National Telecommunications Commission in order to trace the said number.
Normal operations resumed after police declared an “all clear.”/DGB, WDJ
