“…My people perish because they no longer know, and they no longer obey, my commands…” –Hosea 4:6
Many readers of this column have raised questions regarding a previous write-up focused on foreigners “invading” the country. They want to know how to remedy the situation of both the invasion and the intruders usurping the nation’s wealth and natural resources. I felt amazing hearing the questions because it means there are still Filipinos concerned with what it happening around us, particularly regarding the proliferation of Chinese nationals.
Although, more amazing are the countless Filipinos who are unaware of the age-old warning surrounding self-seeking and ruthless foreigners. This lack of knowledge demonstrates one grave and serious problem, many of the “Christian faith” are incomplete; rendering them quite useless.
If Filipinos who call themselves “Christians” truly aspire to be genuine believers, they would relentlessly reading and obey the Bible.
The word Bible is an acronym: Basic, Instructions, Before, Leaving Earth. By understanding this, it explains what the Bible really means, which leads to an immediate realization of how important it is to read, memorize, and obey.
How can Christians become aware of these basic instructions without the Bible?
The Bible’s teachings on foreigners
According to Deuteronomy 28:32: “The foreigners who live among you will become richer and richer, while you would become poorer and poorer. The foreigners will be the one to lend to you, while you will not be able to lend them anything, precisely because of your poverty.” It is also written, “These foreigners will become the rulers, the officials who will govern us, in our own native land. They will take all our natural wealth and resources – our harvest, our hogs, and other animals for food, all our means of livelihood.”
Why is the Bible imposing these curses? Christians are no longer listening and obeying the Bible.
The remedy against the curse of foreigners is therefore very simple. The very real problem is, among many Filipinos, there are very few who truly read and obey the Bible. We were not taught by our families and churches to read and obey the Bible and that is why the curses of God are upon us.
