Over 2,500 big bikers from across the country will converge at the Iloilo Business Park for the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines (NFMCP) national convention. The event will be led by NFMCP Chairman Emeritus Manolet Lamata of the Thunderbugs Bacolod Motorcycle Club and hosted by the Iloilo Motorcycle Club, which led by NFMCP Chairman Doc Ruben Ramirez.
Those attending the event include corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, government officials, retirees, and “riding fanatics.”
Iloilo City will be bustling with motorcycles – imagine thousands of big bikes roaming the city.
First time visitors will enjoy the local delicacies and the beer supply will be unending. The location has the best dining destinations, a shopping mall, and luxury hotels.
The city should take care of them and offer the visitors an experience, which will encourage them to return with their families (or even corporate partners).
As part of the national organizing team for past conventions, my conservative calculation suggests each biker spends around P8,000 over the course of two days – that’s P20 million for Iloilo City.
Kudos to Ramirez, Victor Facultad, June Malones, and the group for hosting the event.
I am expecting to rub elbows with my friends Visayas Confederation of Big Bikers Club Philippines President Rolando Ting; Mindanao Confederation president, Zamboanga del Norte first district Rep. Seth Frederick ‘Bullet’ Jalosjos; Lamata; NFMCP officials Lito Aves of Bacolod City and Butch Chase of Puerto Princesa; Neil Concepcion of Kawasaki; Scout Tumulak of Harley Davidson Cebu; and Mikey Benedicto of Thunderbugs.
In addition, FastCat Vice President for Marketing Christine Guevarra said all bikers will receive discounts for riding their vessels.
