Rookies/Sophomores beat Juniors

Javee Mocon scored the game-winning tip-in as the Rookies/Sophomores All-Stars cruised to a 141-140 win over the Juniors during the 2019 PBA All-Star Weekend event at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
Mocon, a rookie from the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, was at the right place at a right time when he converted on a missed jumper by Jaymar Perez at the buzzer.
He finished the game with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists but it was Perez of Columbian Dyip who was named MVP after scoring 32 points, along with making eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Down by as much as 129-119 with over five minutes in the match, the Rookies/Sophomores banked on Perez, who tallied 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Jeron Teng also contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, while Robbie Herndon and Andres Paul Desiderio also finished in double-digits with 16 and 11 markers, respectively./ASC, WDJ
