A businessman was killed after motorcycle-riding suspects shot him yesterday morning in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The 42-year-old Richard Catague was watching over his construction shop when the gunmen peppered him with bullets using their .45-caliber gun.

Murcia police chief Major Roberto Indiape said Catague died on the spot.

Several empty shells were recovered from the crime scene.

According to Indiape, Catague had just been released from jail. He was arrested for punching a retired police officer almost a month ago.

Officers from the Murcia municipal police station were still identifying and locating the suspects, who fled after the shooting.

Investigation to determine the motive in the incident was also ongoing./DGB, WDJ
