De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers vented its ire on the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs with a decisive 25-20, 25-18, 25-10 victory in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball on Wednesday night at the San Juan Arena.
Desiree Cheng led the way with season-high 17 points, on 14 attacks, two service aces, and a block, while Ernestine Tiamzon contributed 11 markers for the defending champions Lady Spikers (6-3).
Still hurting from their stunning defeat to University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, the Lady Spikers started strong in the opening set and was able to build a 20-15 lead before preventing the Lady Bulldogs from coming close.
The Lady Spikers carried the momentum in the second set where they went up by as much as 23-17 before dropping the hammer on the rookie-laden Lady Bulldogs in the third frame with a 24-9 edge.
Roselyn Doria was the lone double-digit scorer for the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points, while rookie Princess Robles was held to eight markers NU slid down to 2-7 card./ASC, WDJ
