Ceres-Negros Youth FC fell short anew in the Season 3 Philam Life 7s Football League after a 1-2 defeat to the Futbol Funatics at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City.
Futbol Funatics banked on the heroics of Abel Gboko, who scored a goal and made an assists on the other conversion, to topple the Negros Occidental-based youth football squad.
Futbol Funatics made its presence felt early with two conversions but the Ceres-Negros Youth was able to pull one back but was unable to force an extra time after struggling to get a game-tying goal.
Gboko said that they were hoping to carry over their big win over the Negrenses to the remaining elimination round schedule.
“Coach told us to work hard and our heads were like, ‘We need to win the game. We really had to win and to push really hard for this game,’” said Gboko.
It was the Ceres-Negros Youth’s second straight defeat after a 3-4 loss to Matu Deportivo a week ago./ASC,  WDJ
