Iloilo City school finishes second in NBTC 3×3 tournament

Santa Clarita International School Inc. of Iloilo City recently finished in second place in the 2019 NBTC 3×3 Basketball National Finals, which took place at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

The Iloilo City squad, comprised Ralph Bajon, Franc Steven Tono, Jemar Cepriano, and Wilmer Dalumpines, fell short after losing 21-19 to University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna (UPHSL) in the finals.

The Ilonggo side started on a wrong foot with Bajon suffering an injury at just over three minutes into the game; although they managed to retain a 14-12 lead on hits from Tono and Cepriano.

Santa Clarita were still ahead 17-14, with less than two minutes left in the game, when Tono also sustained an injury. Laguna took advantage of the situation and completed a come-from-behind win./ASC, WDJ

Franc Steven Tono was one of two injuries suffered by Santa Clarita International School Inc. of Iloilo City in the finals of the 2019 NBTC 3×3 Basketball National Finals, where they lost to University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna.
