UP women’s volleyball team halts losing streak, beats Adamson

The University of the Philippines (UP) returned to their winning ways in the 81st UAAP women’s volleyball season with a 25-27, 25-14, 25-12, 25-21 win over Adamson University over the weekend at the San Juan Arena.

Diana Carlos and Maria Lina Molde finished with 14 points apiece for UP, while Maristela Layug added 11 markers.

UP surrendered error after error, which allowed Adamson to snatch a 1-0 set lead.

However, UP recovered big time in the second set as it opened a 19-9 lead to level the count. They went on to do the same in the third frame to take a 2-1 set advantage.

UP had another strong start in the fourth frame and reached match point at 24-17 but the Adamson came up with four straight points before surrendering the match./ASC, WDJ
