At least one person was confirmed dead, while three others were injured, after a motorcycle struck a pedestrian yesterday morning along the national highway at Purok Pag-asa, located in Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub.
Police identified the fatality as 59-year-old Wilfredo Castillo, a resident of the said area. In addition, the injured were identified as Remuel Eridiano, the operator of the motorcycle; Jose Alegato; and Charlie Tejada.
Police Station 8 traffic investigator, Police Sergeant Randy Abello, said Castillo was in the crosswalk when he was struck by the motorcycle, which threw Eridiano and his riders from their vehicle.
Castillo and the motorcycle occupants were immediately rushed to South Bacolod General Hospital for treatment, although Castillo later succumbed to his injuries.
