Far Eastern University (FEU) tightened their grip on the top spot of the 81st UAAP men’s football season after their 2-1 win over De La Salle University (DLSU) over the weekend at the FEU-Diliman pitch.

After FEU quickly scored in the opening minute, courtesy of Kim Minsu’s strike, Alfonso Montelibano responded with an equalizer for DLSU in the 22nd minute. By the 83rd minute, Nikki Canonigo came up with the go-ahead goal and ended the first round of eliminations with FEU on top and undefeated with 15 points on four wins and three draws.

In other matches, Ateneo de Manila University cruised to a 4-0 annihilation of National University; while the University of the Philippines beat the University of the East, 2-1./ASC, WDJ
