Three individuals, one of whom is reportedly a minor, were arrested last Friday after they were accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Bacolod City.
Police have requested not to name the victim or the suspects, along with not identifying where the incident took place.
During a radio interview over the weekend, Police Station 9 (PS9) commander, Police Captain Junrey Batadlan, said, based on their investigations, the victim and one of the suspects, who is believed to be the victim’s lover, met at a convenience store and eventually proceeded to the 19-year-old suspect’s residence.
Batadlan said both the victim and the suspect were drinking and, once inebriated, the victim’s lover carried her to his room and began raping her.
Two other suspects, another 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, joined in sexually assaulting the victim after seeing her naked.
The victim later reported the incident to PS9.
Police immediately conducted a follow-up operation, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
The three face rape charges and are presently detained at PS9./DGB, WDJ
