Malabor: Investigation ongoing to find who is responsible

After netizens recently noticed garbage burning taking place at a dumpsite in Isabela’s Barangay Guintubdan, Mayor Joselito Malabor clarified the matter over the weekend and affirmed the municipal government was not involved.

He said a report was received last March 14 regarding the issue and the local Bureau of Fire Protection was immediately dispatched to put out the blaze.

Malabor also confirmed the dumpsite fire affected a nearby sugarcane field.

Meanwhile, the mayor said an investigation is underway to find out who started the blaze.

He noted, charges will be filed against those responsible for violations to RA 8749, or the Philippines Clean Air Act of 1999./DGB, WDJ
